BARBERTON -- Stephen M. Kenna, 39, passed away suddenly as a result of an automobile accident on August 20, 2009. He was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and graduate of Barberton High School Class of 1988. Steve was employed at Dimitroff's Furniture and Design as a Lead Driver. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, loved fishing, the Cleveland Indians and Browns, was an avid reader and historian and overall sports fan. He was also a proud Navy Veteran having served during Operation Desert Storm. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Somerick and James and Henrietta Kenna; survivors include his wife, Kris of Barberton; parents, William and Delores Kenna of Barberton; sisters and brother Cynthia (Tim) Carmany of Barberton, Gregory (Beverly) Kenna of California and Nicole Kenna of Barberton; nephews, Kyle and Alex Carmany; best friend, Travis Wheeler; his fish, "Meth Monster"; cats "Cheetah" and "Smokey" and a host of other relatives. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2009, 1 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Fr. David Majikas celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Prayers will be said Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Autism Society.
