BARBERTON-WADSWORTH -- Lori Winebrenner, 50, was gently removed from the arms of her loving family and carried into heaven by angels Thursday, July 23, 2009 after a courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer. Words cannot express how sad we are and how deeply she will be missed by all. A graduate of Barberton High School "Class of 76" and the University of Akron, Lori was a high achiever and talented artist. She was self-employed as a graphic designer and also as an engineering tech in the family business, Robert C Winebrenner and Associates for over 21 years. Lori continued in the engineering field for the City of Barberton where she was known as the "beautiful smiling face of the city building" helping out all departments until her illness forced her to retire after 11 years. Lori was always active in many events and organizations to help people while she took care of her family and anyone else who needed help. She was truly an "angel on earth." Lori constantly set goals for herself and achieved them. She was a role model and inspiration to many as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and cousin. She was the definition of a true friend to all. Lori was the oldest daughter of the late Robert L. Hawley and Doris Hawley-Neal. She was the woman responsible for the success of high school sweetheart and soul-mate husband of nearly 30 years, retired, Officer Rob Winebrenner; most proud of her two children, son, Officer Justin Winebrenner and accomplished daughter, Kelly (Tim) Campbell; sister, April (Scott) Ray; brothers, Michael (Debbie) Hawley and Russ (Sandy) Hawley; numerous relatives, friends and favorite German Shepard, Roscoe. Lori was never alone throughout her two-year battle. Her army was led by the determination, caring and compassion of Dr Sandra Hazra, and the team at Barberton's very own Parkview Cancer Center, BCH first floor oncology, all the doctors and nurses of area hospitals, VNS and Hospice staff and the hundreds of friends, family and others who rallied together daily to pray for remission. Lori left us knowing that everything in our earthly power was done. One final wish was being able to attend Barberton's Relay For Life and Clay's Park Rockin' Resort over the weekend. While it is impossible to list all those who helped, Lori appreciated everything, and will be watching over you forever. Prayers will be Monday 9:30 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave, Barberton, OH 44203 with mass of Christian burial 10 a.m. at St Augustine Catholic Church, both overlooking one of Lori's favorite places, Lake Anna. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or VNS/Hospice in memory of Lori.
