WADSWORTH -- Judith M. Herndon (nee Cowan), 71, of Wadsworth passed away Friday, November 27, 2009. She was born April 29, 1938 in Long Island, N.Y., daughter of George and Josephine (Kalleta) Cowan. Mrs. Herndon managed Peace From God's Word Library. Her passion was to study the word of God and encouraging others to study God's word. She also enjoyed working outside in her garden. She is survived by her husband, Gordon J. Herndon, with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage; children, Mike (Leesa) Herndon, Steve Herndon, Nick Herndon, and Vicky (Thom) Benek; grandchildren, Matt, Andrea, Josh, Hannah, Nathan, Tabby, Ali, Dani; and one great-great- grandchild, Hunter. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 7605 Pleasant Home Rd., Sterling, Ohio, where she attended, with Pastor Stephen P. Olsen officiating. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, and one hour prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, P.O. Box 547, Akron, OH 44398.
