John D. Jones

WADSWORTH -- John D. Jones III, 62, of Wadsworth passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 28, 2009.  Born August 23, 1947 in Medina to the late John D. and Betty E. Jones. Mr. Jones was a graduate of Wadsworth High School Class of 1965, and the University of Akron. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 27 years of service, and from Summit County Children's Services Board.  John was a man of great integrity, generosity, loyalty, and thoughtfulness who never expected anyone to reciprocate. He lived with these qualities because he knew it was the right thing to do. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. John loved his family immensely and enjoyed having family gatherings. He was an accomplished woodworker, loved the casinos, playing golf, and Ohio State Buckeyes football.  John is survived by his beloved wife, Yvonne (nee Boesiger) with whom he celebrated 37 years of marriage; his daughter, Kelly (Daniel) Himmelright of Wadsworth; his son, John David Jones IV of Medina; his two loving grandchildren, Teddy and Sara Himmelright; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (James) DeLong of Georgia; uncle Dennis (Mary Ann) Rothacker of Wadsworth; mother-in-law, JuNell Dente; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Tom and Carol Dente and Renee and Jim Hurd; nieces, Rachel Valentini and Jennifer Berggren; nephews, Brent Myers, Treston and Cory DeLong and cousins, Susan Rothacker and Diane Gangle.  The family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday with Rev. Ann Paynter officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Friday at 2:30. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 300, Wadsworth, OH 44282, Cleveland Christian Home, 2202 Prame Ave, Cleveland, OH 44109, or to Camp Quality, P.O. Box 2462, Akron, OH 44309.
