BARBERTON -- Deveda A. Miller, 83, passed away August 18, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center in Copley. She was born in Malaga, Ohio and had been a Barberton resident for the past 44 years. Deveda was a member of the Barberton Church of Christ, former member of the Boston Church of Christ in Boston, Ohio, VFW Post #2792 Ladies Auxiliary in Barnesville, Ohio and the Barberton Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, taking care of her family and especially the weekend trips with her daughters. Preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Oma Carpenter; husband, Harold Miller; son, Stanley 'Bud' Miller; and brothers, Ronald and Wesley Carpenter; survivors include sons, Wes of Barberton, Wayne (Janet) of Kenmore, Joe (Karen) of Norton, and Jeff (Kim) of Barberton; daughters, Shirley Sandi of Copley, Donna (Terry) Selogy of Barberton, and Linda (Michael) Heiney of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Michealine Miller of Clinton; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Lawrence Carpenter. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the SILVA-HOSTETLER FUNERAL HOME, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. Calling hours are Friday, 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
